Tool Guide

About the Registration ID Photo Processing Tool

The online registration ID photo processing tool can quickly crop and process the size of exam and other registration ID photos and compress them to a specified file size to pass a registration system's review, with simple and efficient operation.

In various exam or registration systems, you need to upload a personal ID photo, and most of the time the ID photo size does not meet the system's requirements - perhaps the image width/height is wrong,

or the ID photo file size is too large or too small to meet the standard, failing the exam registration system's review. With this tool, you can easily process your ID photo into a standard photo that meets the registration system's requirements.

Before using this tool, you need to prepare an original ID photo that meets the color requirements, with no width/height restriction; this tool can quickly make a compliant ID photo for you in one click.

The tool outputs JPG format images by default and can control the output image width, height, and file size; when you change the height or width, the crop selection changes automatically.

How to Use the ID Photo Processing Tool?

Set the ID photo width, height, and maximum output size, click the "Reselect Photo" button to choose your ID photo, and drag the control points around the selection to adjust the ID photo crop area.

Check the ID photo crop preview, and when satisfied, click the ID photo image or button to generate the ID photo. Click the download button or the ID photo preview image below to download it quickly. Note: it is the one below - do not download the crop preview image, otherwise the size may be inaccurate.

If it does not download automatically, save it manually: on mobile, long-press the ID photo preview image to save it to your phone; on desktop, right-click and Save As to save it locally.

The maximum size parameter controls the output image's maximum size; for example, if set to 50 KB, the generated image will be at most 50 KB and will not exceed 50 KB.

Please use a high-definition original ID photo for processing, otherwise the generated ID photo may be blurry.

What to Do if the File Size Is Too Small?

If your original photo is not clear enough and the file is fairly small, so the generated ID photo file size falls below the platform's minimum standard - for example, the upload requirement is 20 KB-50 KB but yours is only 15 KB -

you can use the image resizer to increase the original image's width, which increases the original file size, and then use this tool to generate it.

You can also directly increase this tool's width and height values proportionally; the exported image's dimensions and size will also increase, meeting the minimum file size requirement.

Change the Resolution to 300 DPI

If the platform requires the ID photo to be 300 DPI, you can use the 300 DPI resolution modifier to process the ID photo, changing its DPI to 300 or another value.

Usage Example

The following example demonstrates how to use this tool.

ID photo requirements example:

Recent bareheaded ID photo specifications and requirements:

A front-facing, bareheaded, color ID photo taken within the last 3 months (background of white, light gray, or light blue)

Specification: 480 pixels wide × 640 pixels tall

The photo must be clear and complete, in JPG format, sized 20 KB to 40 KB

Whether glasses are worn in the ID photo should be consistent with the ID card photo

The above requirements include the following mandatory requirements for the ID photo file:

1. The image width/height must be 480×640 pixels

2. It must be a JPG format image (this tool defaults to JPG, so no action needed)

3. The image file size must be between 20 KB and 40 KB

In the tool settings, enter 480 for width, 640 for height, and 38 for maximum size; the size can be slightly below the required size but not by too much, otherwise it may affect the clarity of the generated image.

Click the button to select your ID photo, adjust the selection to your satisfaction, then click the button or the crop preview image to generate the final ID photo effect. Click the effect image below or the download button to start the automatic download; if it cannot download, save it manually.

Happily take your downloaded ID photo to the registration system and submit it~

Development is not easy, so small support is welcome.
