About the Online Image Resolution Modifier

The online 300 DPI image resolution modifier can quickly set an image's DPI to 300 DPI or a custom resolution, making it suitable for registration, ID photo upload, and similar scenarios.

This image resolution adjustment tool only modifies the image's DPI display value; it does not affect image quality, image dimensions, or clarity, ensuring compliance with a platform's review requirements.

Many online registration systems require 300 DPI ID photos, but ID photos downloaded online or made on web pages usually have only 72 DPI and cannot pass a platform's check; you can use this tool to quickly modify the image DPI.

The DPI value you set is applied to both the vertical and horizontal resolution; for example, if you set 300 DPI, after processing both the vertical and horizontal resolution are 300 DPI.

It only supports processing images up to 1 MB; if larger, use the image compression master to compress the file size first, then modify the DPI.

How to Modify Image Resolution

Step 1: Enter the target DPI value in the input box (300 DPI by default, customizable);

What is DPI?

DPI (Dots Per Inch) is a unit used to measure image resolution, indicating the number of dots that can be displayed or printed per inch. The higher the DPI value, the clearer the print effect usually is, but it does not affect the display quality on screen.

How do I check an image's DPI?

On Windows, right-click the image → Properties → Details to view the DPI resolution; on macOS, open the image with the "Preview" tool and view the DPI information in the toolbar.

Why modify the DPI?

Many registration websites, ID photo upload platforms, or printing needs require images to reach 300 DPI to ensure compliance with printing or review standards.

If the image itself is clear but the DPI is too low, simply modifying the DPI value can meet these platforms' requirements without changing the image dimensions or quality.

Which image formats are supported?

It supports uploading common formats such as JPG, PNG, and JPEG; animated GIFs are not yet supported.

Does it support batch DPI modification?

Currently only single-image upload and modification are supported; for batch processing, you can upload multiple times, or use the online DPI converter.

Is there an image size limit?

Yes. A single image supports up to 1 MB, so please compress larger files in advance.
