Introduction to the Online Character Frequency Counter

The online character frequency counter can count the occurrence count and frequency of every character that appears in the specified text. Just paste your text string and click the count button to complete the tally.

The system automatically matches how many times each string appears throughout the text and displays the results in a table, which can be exported directly as a TXT or Excel file—handy for later copywriting optimization, keyword extraction, text duplication detection, and more.

The statistics are sorted in descending order of occurrence count. If you need to count the occurrences of specific strings, you can use the Text Occurrence Counter.

How to Count Character Occurrences and Frequency in Text

Step 1: Paste the full text you want to analyze into the "Original Text" input box.

Step 2: In the input box, enter the content to count in the format of one string per line.

Step 3: Click "Start Counting," and the system automatically calculates each string's occurrence count and generates a results table.

Step 4: You can choose to download TXT or Excel for further data processing, or clear it and start counting again. Click "View Example" to automatically load sample data for a demonstration.

Fully supported, including Chinese words, English words, symbols, numbers, and more—as long as you enter the exact string, it can be matched.

What's the difference between the export formats?

Downloading TXT is good for saving and viewing, while Excel is better for further data organization, analysis, and sorting.
