About the Online WiFi QR Code Generator

The online WiFi QR code generator can create WiFi sharing QR codes; after scanning, users can connect with one tap without entering a password, making WiFi sharing more convenient and smart.

The WiFi QR code maker lets users scan with their phone camera to connect directly to a specified WiFi, avoiding the tedious password entry. It is widely used in shops, supermarkets, hotels, and other public places. After generating the WiFi sharing QR code,

simply print it and paste it at a designated spot for guests to scan and connect; after scanning, they can connect to the specified WiFi hotspot password-free in seconds.

Because cameras such as WeChat's automatically read the QR code's text content and cannot achieve automatic WiFi connection, we recommend using a native camera or a QR code scanner that supports WiFi connection to scan and recognize it.

How to Create a WiFi Sharing QR Code

Step 1: Enter the basic WiFi information; fill in the WiFi name/SSID (required), WiFi password (can be left blank), encryption method (no encryption/WPA/WPA2/WPA), and whether it is a hidden network, based on your actual situation.

If your WiFi hotspot SSID is hidden, select Yes for whether it is a hidden network; for a normally visible WiFi hotspot, select No. If you are unsure of the WiFi encryption method, choose one, generate the code, and test it yourself.

Step 2: Click Generate QR Code, and the system automatically generates a scannable, connectable QR code according to the WiFi protocol format.

Step 3: The system displays the WiFi information you entered and the automatically generated WiFi connection QR code (which can be downloaded). If you need the SSID or other text information, just take a screenshot. If the download fails, download it manually: on desktop, right-click and Save Image As; on mobile, long-press to save it to your phone.

Step 4: If you need an example, click "Show Example"; to generate again, click "Clear" to reset the page.

WiFi QR Code Technical Principles

The WiFi connection protocol format is:

WIFI:T:WPA;S:wifiname;P:wifipasswd;;

Parameter explanation:

WIFI indicates that this is a WiFi connection protocol.

S indicates that what follows is the WiFi SSID, wifiname, i.e. the WiFi name.

P indicates that what follows is the WiFi password, wifipasswd is the WiFi password.

T indicates that what follows is the password encryption method; most are WPA/WPA2, and WPA is also used.

H indicates whether this WiFi is hidden, i.e. the signal cannot be found by simply opening WiFi (Apple does not yet support hidden mode).

Based on your settings, the tool concatenates the parameters to generate the specified text string. When a camera scans it and reads this content, it knows it needs to connect to WiFi, parses out the corresponding parameters from the string, and performs the WiFi connection.

WiFi QR Code FAQ

Will scanning automatically connect to the WiFi?

Yes. The QR code uses the standard WiFi protocol format, and after a phone scans it, a prompt to join the network pops up.

My WiFi has no password; can I still generate a QR code?

Yes. Just select "No encryption" as the encryption method.

How do I set up a hidden network?

If your WiFi has a hidden SSID, set "Whether it is a hidden network" to Yes, and the tool generates the corresponding QR code in the standard format.

Can the generated QR code be printed?

Yes. The download is a clear image that can be printed directly and placed at a front desk, on a wall, or on a desktop.

Do I have to choose the correct encryption method?

We recommend choosing the correct encryption method. If the method does not match, scanning to connect may prompt a failure or require manual password entry.

Can this QR code be scanned by all phones?

Most iOS and Android systems support the WiFi scan-to-connect feature, with good compatibility.
