Tool Introduction
The Online Password Strength Assessment Tool can quickly assess the security of a password based on the account information and password, helping you avoid weak passwords and better protect account security.
This tool mainly uses the zxcvbn plugin to assess passwords. The brief result score ranges from 0 to 4, with the following meanings:
The score ranges from 0 to 4, corresponding to different password strengths: 0: The password is extremely easy to guess and could be guessed in fewer than 10^3 attempts. Typical examples include using a dictionary word, such as 'password' or 'mother'. 1: Still easy to guess, but requiring more attempts (fewer than 10^6). For example, adding an extra character to a dictionary word might get this score. 2: Somewhat difficult to guess, with attempts within 10^8. This provides some protection, making online attacks not easy to succeed. 3: Relatively secure and not easy to guess, with attempts within 10^10. It provides a medium level of protection against offline slow-hash attacks. 4: Very difficult to guess, with attempts greater than or equal to 10^10. It provides strong protection in offline slow-hash attack scenarios.
zxcvbn is a password strength assessment plugin developed by Dropbox, designed to help developers assess the security of user passwords. It considers factors such as password length, character variety, commonness, and pattern avoidance, providing an intuitive strength score for each password. By providing real-time feedback, developers can guide users to choose stronger and more secure passwords, improving account security and preventing passwords from being easily guessed or cracked.
When setting a password, we recommend choosing a combination of sufficient length, including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters. Use unique, hard-to-guess phrases or word combinations, and avoid common words and simple patterns. The password length should exceed 12 characters to improve security. Change passwords regularly and use different passwords for different accounts to avoid the risk of information leakage. Consider using a password management tool, which provides convenience while enhancing security. Update passwords promptly to adapt to constantly evolving security standards.
